The Ripple series is inspired by water’s dance with light; frozen in time. White stoneware clay is mixed with hand prepared color clay and thrown on the potter’s wheel in a technique called Neriage in Japan (pronounced nair-ee-ah-gee). Each piece is hand sanded at each of the clay’s stages (green, bisque, glaze) & glazed in a food safe, clear matte inside and out.

Each piece is one of a kind creation. Slight imperfections and variations serve as a record of the potter's dialogue with the clay. Stamped potter's mark for authenticity.

The Undertow series seeks to capture the abstract waterscape of its namesake. The speckled stoneware pieces are wheel thrown and upwards of twenty layers of glazes and oxides are painted on by hand. Most pieces are glazed fired multiple times - dance with the devil - to achieve their depth and movement. Each piece varies and pays homage to the potter’s dialogue with the clay and the surrender to the firing process.
